Supporting tools.

  1. During the week before your child starts school, say positive things to your child about the centre. Drive past the school and tell your child “This will be your school.”
  2. Get to know and say positive things about the nursery and key person, (mention carer by name) show photo of carer.
  3. Talk to your child about what happens in the nursery class, and what to expect.
  4. Provide school with laminated photo of parents/ guardians.
  5. Have a goodbye plan upon drop off. Do not be distressed in font of the child, children feel our emotions.
  6. Repeat to child, “ I will pick you up soon”
